About This Course
Your professional & Personal Success depends upon effective communication, and this begins with your ability to be confident, prepared, poised and natural. This workshop gives the participants the opportunity to improve the critical communication skills of listening, asking questions and being aware of nonverbal messages. this workshop van also help participants who are struggling to find that middle ground between being too aggressive and too passive, and how to counter the manipulative tactics of difficult people. Participants also learn more about the lements of our communication with other that help us reveal appropriate information about ourselves, and how to get a handle on how to better manage ourselves for a professional image.
This course includes:
1. Introduction and course overview.
2. the ten commandments of postive relationships: Participants will explore 10 ways to build positive relationships, including using uplifting messages.
3. Self Awareness: Knowing your fears can help you address them. participants will complete a self-confidence assessment and then the group will discuss fears and solutions.
4. Personal communication: during this session you will help participants identify their strengths and weaknesses through a perosnal exercise and a role play.
5. Communication barriers: After a large group case study, participants will work in small groups to discuss barriers to communication. participants will also complete a short exercise to illustrate how these barriers apply to everyday life.
6. Asking questions: This session will examine questioning skills (including open questions, closed questions and probing) Through a lecture and a pairs exercise.
7. Listening skills: Participants will be given activities to practice effective listening skills.
