About This Course
Tis course is a basic risk management health and safety certificate for employees. It enables people to meet their responsibilities for health and safety in the workplace.
Module 1: Introduction:
– Course overview.
– Why it is important to work safely.
– Who is responsible for safety and a healthy environment in the workplace.
Module 2: Defining hazards and risks:
– Identifying the 6 hazard groups: mechanical, physical, chemical, environmental, biological and organizational.
– What is meant by the terms ‘Hazards’ and ‘Risks’.
– What is meant by the term ‘Risk Assessment’.
– Deciding on what actions to take to control risk.
Module 3: Identifying Common Hazards:
– Identifying the basic Hazards: Aggression and violence, bullying, chemical and harmful substances, electricity and fire, heights and etc.
Module 4: Improving Safety Performance:
– Learning what an organization can do to manage and improve safety and health in the workplace.
– Workers responsibilities for improving safety and health in the workplace.
– How attitude and behavior can affect safety and health in the workplace.
– What a safe system of work is.
– First Aid Provision.
Module 5: Protecting our environment: a short but effective introduction to waste and pollution leads into a look at how organizations and individual team members can get involved in reducing environmental impacts.
– Defining the environment.
– Define what is pollution and waste.
– Define business sustainability and the impact a business has on people, performance and the environment.
– Explain how an organization can reduce waste and pollution.
